A small group of agents skipped the summer slowdown, and their story shows how systems, habits, and accountability turn daily activity into signed agreements.

Summer’s end usually slows things down, and agents step away for a while. A small group of agents made a different decision this year and committed to eight weeks of focused, consistent action through our summer productivity challenge. Each day began on Zoom at 8:30 a.m. to set intentions and sharpen our prospecting and follow-up skills. We tracked every call, text, appointment, and signed agreement. Together, the agents on this panel generated 18 contracts without waiting for the market to hand them business.

Activities matter more than the goal. Each of us set out to sign six buyer agreements, listing agreements, or a mix of both, and Melissa admitted that number felt unrealistic at first. She set it aside and focused on the daily work. Another panelist stayed focused on calls and dials because they were the lead metric he could control, and he landed four listings in a single week. Chris started treating his business like a small company that takes real investment and time, and he reached $10 million in a single month.

SHAPE turns effort into consistency. The results came from five elements of our SHAPE business-building system: systems, habits, accountability, people, and environment. A one-page paper tracker sat alongside Follow Up Boss because measured, reported progress improves dramatically. Peer groups of five met weekly, and one agent used hers to break a 3,000-flyer farm mailing into weekly steps until she finished it by week three. Melissa says environment is everything, and Chris added that you need a culture that resonates with you and plenty of chances to get in front of people.

Prove your value before any agreement. Chris believes in offering value before you ever push an agreement in front of someone, and in never leaving an appointment empty-handed. My team put that idea to work with a $3 million buyer who was interviewing other agents. The AI prompt Chris built compares 10-year appreciation for condos and townhomes in Santa Clara and Sunnyvale and highlights each community. It took about five minutes to run, and bringing it to the very first consultation helped us land the client.
